With the launch of the "MotoReel" campaign for Motorola Canada, Hill & Knowlton wanted a promotional element that would demonstrate the incredible potential of cell phone moviemaking and encourage consumer participation. VMG designed and produced the Motorola Phone Films Series, an online instructional series demonstrating how to use a cell phone to produce a classic genre film. The 6-episode series consists of an original Kung-Fu short film shot on a Motorola cell phone, and 5 behind-the-scenes episodes covering everything from cell phone camera techniques to editing and uploading online. VMG handled creative, production and online distribution duties for series, recording 180,000 YouTube views and over 200 comments for the series in a three week time span.
